This hour-long program was described as “an interactive, in studio show aimed at an after school teen and preteen audience that featured calls from viewers, music videos of top hits, guest artists, action, drama and cartoons.” The first host was Stan Johnson ,who was on the debut program from Halifax. Later, productions originated in Regina, Halifax, Vancouver, Toronto and Edmonton. In the CBC tradition of Music Hop and Let’s Go from the 1960s, Switchback’s mandate was regional representation, although many of the acts had international status.
Hosts: Stan Johnson, Bill Wright, Shawn Thompson, Terry Dimonte, Eric Tunney, Stu Jeffries and Howard Busgang.
