Lorne Green’s New Wilderness

Network: CTV Television Network

Broadcast Run: 1982 to 1987

Broadcast Medium: Television

Originally known just as New Wilderness, the title was changed in 1986 to honour the show’s host. This filmed half-hour weekly compilation of wildlife footage with on-camera and voice-over narration by the Bonanza veteran was co-produced by Greene’s son Charles and experienced documentary producer/writer Stephen Dewar.  Its superior production values and Greene’s authoritative delivery combined to give CTV a Canadian ratings winner for five years, and the series also enjoyed significant success in syndication in the U.S. and internationally.

It played on CTV on Tuesdays at 7:30pm from September 1982 to September 1987
