Gordon Pinsent introduced the program in the first couple of seasons followed by Ann-Marie MacDonald.

182 Canadians wereprofiled on the series during its ten-year run, including, Wayne Gretzky, Cathy Jones, Second City Parts 1, 2 & 3, Ron Lancaster, Gordie Howe, William Hutt, Rex Harrington, Elizabeth Manley, Barenaked Ladies, Wade Davis, Moe Norman, Joni Mitchell, and more.

Following the conclusion of the series on CBC, it was frequently seen in repeats on some cable speciality channels.
