Aired Monday nights at 10:30 from December 17, 1962 to May 6, 1963.
This single season program was one of the first to examine media from a linguistic point of view. The host was Nathan Cohen, entertainment editor at the Toronto Star, who was the host of Fighting Words, one of the most popular programs on CBC in the 1950s.
Interviews, discussions and short documentary reports made up the content, as In View looked at the industries of television, magazines, newspapers and paperback books. The program on the magazine industry looked at the recent closings of Coronet and Exchange. The show on newspapers, examined the long strike at the New York Times and the paperback show featured Fawcett Books Executive Editor, Fred Kerner.
