In The Kitchen With Stefano Faita

Network: CBC Television Network

Broadcast Run: 2011 to 2014

Broadcast Medium: Television

With two French television shows, two best-selling cookbooks, a bustling cooking school and a renowned housewares store to his credit, host Stefano Faita had celebrity chef status in his hometown of Montreal. In 2011-12, the first season of the CBC weekday series In the Kitchen With Stefano Faita– Stefano’s first series for English Canada — proved to be a huge success nationwide, drawing in legions of new fans from across the country. Stefano’s  informal, yet instructional, cooking style has inspired people with his passion for using fresh, simple food.

Each episode theme, such as “What to do with a Can of Tuna,” “My First Dinner Party” or “Stefano’s ‘Fasta’ Pastas,” offered answers to common cooking questions, showcases invaluable cooking techniques and provided tips and tricks on how to make the most out of a specific ingredient. An advocate of cooking with creativity, Stefano encouraged viewers to experiment with food and recipes, and offered a warm, inviting atmosphere for foodies and cooks of all levels. Stefano was joined by real people in his kitchen, teaching them fun new techniques and tips in a cooking-school type atmosphere.

In April 2013 the CBC announced that In The Kitchen would return for the 2013-14 season.  In March 2014 the CBC announced that In the Kitchen had been cancelled, and would not return for the 2014-15 season.
