This half hour program answered the growing demand in the television market for music videos. The advent of MTV in the US, and MuchMusic in Canada, prompted CBC to produce its own contemporary music show.
The first host was Samantha Taylor who was succeeded by the late Dan Gallagher in 1991. Gallagher made the move to CBC from MuchMusic. Taylor was heard on radio at Q107 in Toronto.
