Aired Saturday nights from October 1970 to October, 1974.
This half hour program was the Saturday evening news show. It later became the more familiar Saturday Report.
The show featured a five minute newscast followed by longer form reports on the issues of the day, or past week. The show was hosted by John O’Leary and later by George Finstad. It was produced by veteran journalists Peter Trueman, Curt Laughlin and Tim Kotcheff.
Trueman went to upstart Global television in 1975, while Kotcheff later became Vice-President of News at CTV before returning to the CBC in a similar capacity.
