Bruce Gray, Sojna Smits & Patrick McKenna

Set in Toronto, a group of Bay Street traders bought and sold Canadian stocks and bonds in this series that

didn’t try to appear to be from Anywhere, North America. Lots of financial babble mixed in with relationship intrigue, this series showed how fortunes were made and lost, and how in a heartbeat, lives could be changed forever. Living by their own rules, the traders were only as successful as their next deal and the bottom line was to stay on top. Traders starred Sonja Smits as Sally Ross who headed up the financial firm of Gardner, Ross (later Gardner, Ross, Cunningham) after her father Cedric was disgraced in a financial scandal. Sally’s initial nemesis, Bruce Gray as Adam Cunningham, was her second in command who was far more experienced in the financial world than Sally and was always looking for a deal to sell the firm out. Adam worked against Sally until eventually the two teamed up to support each other to keep the firm alive with Cunningham finally getting the recognition he always wanted. Other traders included Patrick McKenna as head trader Marty Stephens, Gloria Slade as his long suffering wife Barb, David Hewlitt as the slightly weird computer geek Grant Jansky, David Cubitt as the charistmatic, crackerjack trader Jack Larkin, Kim Huffman as Ayn Krywarik, a retail broker who has an on-again, off-again love interest in Jack Larkin, Gabriel Hogan as Ian Farnham, Peter Stebbings as Paul Deeds, and Rick Roberts as Donald Darby.
