The Spacewatch Club was a weekly half-hour series that explored the world of space science and technology through dramatic stories with live action and animation sequences filmed on location around the world. The Spacewatch Club members were J.T., Catherine, Emily and Kevin, and their wisecracking jerry-rigged computer W.A.L.T.E.R. (Wires Analog Laser Technology Experimental Recorder). The group visited working space facilities including NASA’s Johnson Space Center, Jet Propulsion Lab, the Deep Space Network and the Canadian Space Agency. Real astronaut-pilots and mission specialists, including Canada’s own star voyageurs, were featured guests who gave young viewers an exciting look at mankind’s quest to explore and understand the universe and our own fragile environment.
