Aired Friday evenings from January to April, 1972; aired Tuesday evenings during the summer of 1978. Repeated Saturday nights during the summer of 1981.
Denis Ryan, Dermot O’ Reilly and Fergus O’Byrne comprised the Irish string band, Ryan’s Fancy. For years they played and recorded with Tommy Makem and were often seen on a syndicated series produced in Hamilton’s CHCH-TV studios.
This program was much more adventurous. It was geared to the music history of the Atlantic Canada, something in which Ryan’s Fancy was especially interested. The band and production crew travelled from St. John’s, Newfoundland to Dorchester, New Brunswick. Wilf Wareham, historian, was hired to do the extensive research into the art and culture of the region.
The show was produced by Jack Kellum and written by Al Pittman.
