This children’s program, aimed at pre-schoolers, was a co-production of CBC and the company responsible for bringing The Care Bears to television. It was a computer animated show about a curious, happy-go-lucky and rambunctious six-year-old boy by the name of Polie Olie; with one exception: he was a robot living in an all-robotic round world. It was the creation of William Joyce, whose successful series of children’s books spawned a television program of high quality. The short, 10-minute films of the 1930s inspired the show. As of 2006, the program was still part of the daily CBC network schedule.
