L’ombre de l’épervier

Network: Société Radio-Canada (SRC) TV Network

Broadcast Run: 1998 to 2000

Broadcast Medium: Television

Based upon the novel with the same name by Noël Audet, the authors Guy Fournier and Robert Favreau wrote the scenario for this TV series upon a canvas of oceans and storms.

Inspired by the Gaspé temperament, L’ombre de l’épervier recreated a society characterized by both ambition and fantasy with its lively and expansive characters. It recounted the problematical passions of Noum Guité, an independent and self-confident fisherman, and his wife Pauline, the so-called she-wolf, a woman with awesome intuitive powers.

The 13-episode series was broadcast in two parts (in 1998 and 2000), and starred Isabel Richer in the role of Pauline Leblanc, and Luc Picard as Noum Guité. It was directed by Robert Favreau. The series won several awards including the Gémeaux for the best female actor in a leading role in a drama or dramatic series given to Isabel Richer, and that of the best male actor to Luc Picard, the best achievement in costume design, the best achievement in set design and the best achievement in photography and finally, the MétroStar Award to an actor in a TV series given to Luc Picard.
