Former All-Pro defensive lineman Lyle Alzado, who played for the Denver Broncos, Cleveland Browns and L.A. Raiders, starred as Robert Randall, school vice-principal by day and Masked Maniac the Wrestler by night in this series, which may have been approved by the National Wrestling Alliance. but was certainly rejected by the viewing public. Cheryl Wilson played Randall’s wife, and his kids were played by Yannick Bisson (much later to become famous as Inspector William Murdoch in the CBC series Murdoch Mysteries) and Nicole Stoffman. Wrestler Steve Williams doubled for Alzado in the fight sequences.

The series made a very brief appearance in the CTV schedule in the 1988-89 season on Fridays at 8:30pm, but had no staying power. Sadly, Alzado later died of brain cancer, which he acknowledged had been caused by his misuse of steroids during his football career.
