Broadcast Run: 2009 to 2016

Broadcast Medium: Television

The Lang and O’Leary Exchange was a business news television series, which began airing on the CBC News Network weekdays in 2009 as a half-hour, later becoming a full hour and then two consecutive half-hours.

One of the half-hours moved to the full CBC Network in September 2012. The series was hosted by Amanda Lang and Kevin O’Leary, and the Network version presented a summary of the day’s major business. It was usually scheduled immediately following the early CBC Network newscasts.

On August 12th 2014, Kevin O’Leary announced that he was leaving the CBC to join the Bell Media Group as an on-air contributor.  Bell Media said that he would appear on a variety of television and radio programs on several of the broadcasting outlets owned by Bell Media.

In announcing O’Leary’s departure, the CBC said Amanda Lang would be hosting a new business program starting in the Fall of 2014. Meanwhile the title of the current series was changed to The Exchange with Amanda Lang.
