As part of the major deal Rogers Media made in November 2013 to acquire all Canadian broadcast rights to NHL Hockey, it was announced on June 3rd 2014 that, in addition to Hockey Night In Canada on Saturdays, to be produced by Rogers but carried by the CBC, CITY-TV would carry Sunday games 7:00 – 10:00 pm under the umbrella title of Hometown Hockey, to be hosted by Ron MacLean.
