David Clayton-Thomas Show, The

Network: CBC Television Network

Broadcast Run: 1969 to 1970

Broadcast Medium: Television

Aired Monday evenings from June 25 to July 9, 1973.
Only three half hour programs were produced in this limited series in the early summer of 1973. David Clayton-Thomas was the lead singer with Blood, Sweat and Tears, a very successful band that had plenty of top ten hits to its credit, including Spinning Wheel.
Clayton-Thomas had recently quit the band for a solo career and returned to Canada. He grew up in Toronto.
The show offered jam sessions and concert-like performances beyond the usual format of host performer with guest artists. The band was led by Trevor Lawrence and featured Canadian and American musicians, including Doug Riley, Russ Little, Bruce Cassidy and Ken Marco.
The show was created by writers George Mendeluk and David Slabotsky, and produced and directed by Athan Katsos in Toronto.
