This prime-time adult animated series was based on the Academy Award winning animated short film, “Bob’s Birthday”, created by David Fine and Alison Snowden, produced by the National Film Board in concert

with Channel 4 in England. Each episode focused on the ordinary but angst-ridden lives of Bob and Margaret Fish, a middle-class dentist and his chiropodist wife, along with their two dogs, William and Elizabeth. In season three, Bob and Margaret moved from their original residence in England, to Toronto, Canada where they were truly “Fish out of water”. The main character voices were performed by Andy Hamilton and Alison Snowden. Like the short film, Bob and Margaret was a British/Canadian co-production, this time with Nelvana and Global replacing the NFB.
