Adventures of Chich

Network: CBC Television Network

Broadcast Run: 1958 to 1959

Broadcast Medium: Television

Uncle Chichimus, the puppet, had become famous as the ‘star’ of Let’s See, the nightly fifteen-minute early-evening program that the CBC introduced in 1952 to tell viewers about the evening’s programming.  This character, and his puppet secretary/housekeeper Holly Hock, made a brief return to the CBC schedule in 1958 with a fifteen-minute weekly program.   John Conway was again the voice of the puppets and their puppeteer, and the weekly guests included Larry Mann (who had been in the original series), Helene Winstone and Tom Kneebone.

The Adventures of Chich was scheduled on CBC on Mondays at 5:15pm, from October 1958 to March 1959, and played on local stations after its network run.  It was also known as Uncle Chichimus and Uncle Chichimus Tells a Story.
