Network: CBC Television Network
Broadcast Run: 1981 to 1987
Broadcast Medium: Television
Aired Tuesday nights from September 1981 to April, 1987.
This hour-long program featured the story of Louis Ciccone, a newspaper
reporter with a difference: he was a clairvoyant. After three successful TV
movies, the CBC picked up the show as a regular primetime series.
The show didn’t take itself very seriously, consequently the mix of
murder mystery and “seeing things” often had moments of creative
genius. How can an eccentric writer actually help solve a crime? Only
Louis Ciccone knew for sure, but with the help of his wife, Marge, and
Detective Sargeant Brown, a case was usually solved each week.
The show was created by lead actor Louis Del Grande and David Barlow,
who had collaborated on The King of Kensington a few years earlier. The
executive producer of Seeing Things was Robert Allen. The show was
syndicated to overseas broadcasters and a dubbed version was produced
for French television.
