Aired daily, at various times, from October, 1991 to January, 1992.
This half hour cooking/food show was produced in Vancouver featuring the enthusiastic chef of Chinese cuisine, Stephen Yan. Each episode was recorded in front of a studio audience with some visits to the local market to talk about unusual vegetables and spices from Asia. Yan had a particular talent for entertaining while cooking, with broken English puns and an apron with the phrase of the day. Yan came to the CBC after several years as a successful author of cookbooks all featuring the wok, a round-bottomed, multi-purpose frying pan. The show was repeated frequently, long after regular production ended.
