Network: CTV Television Network
Broadcast Run: 1963 to 1964
Broadcast Medium: Television
At the start of the 1963-64 season, CTV had two half-hour Roy Ward Dickson game shows in its prime time schedule, Take a Chance (in its third year) and this one, which – like many of Roy’s shows – took advantage of his encyclopaedic knowledge of vocabulary and spelling. The show was slick and fast-moving, but was not in the end the answer to CTV’s prayers for bigger audiences in those early years, despite some loyal advertiser support, which Roy had brought over from his days in radio.
Think of a Word had a one-year run in 1963-64, on Fridays at 8:00pm. It was produced in the studios of CFTO-TV Toronto.
