A comedy series written by Marcel Gamache and starring Gilles Latulippe in the role of Symphorien. Symphorien, the father of a big family, was a janitor in a boarding house inhabited by a flock of colourful and zany characters. Symphorien was often absent-minded and sometimes lost his memory altogether.
Amongst the other characters on the program, there was Symphorien’s wife (Denise Proulx), his brother Éphrem (Fernand Gignac), the undertaker Oscar Bellemarre (Jean-Louis Millette), and Berthe Lespérance (Janine Sutto) and Madame Sylvain (Juliette Huot), the two co-owners. A host of other actors made cameo appearances in the series. Many of the incidents involved the roomers of this boarding house in Eastern Montreal.
This situation comedy was broadcast for seven years (269 episodes) on Télé-Métropole, from 1970 to 1977. It was directed by Pierre A. Morin and Gilles Vincent.
