The National Film Board of Canada was given this time-slot to air films on Canadian subjects for youth. Since it was a Centennial year, most of the subjects were celebratory in nature, focussing on places and events identifiable as Canadian. These included the St. Lawrence Seaway, the founding of Montreal, the RCMP Musical Ride and the discovery of insulin.
