Aired from Noon to 3PM weekdays on Radio Two. Debuted October 4, 2004. Based in Ottawa, in the Sparks Street location of the CBC, this 3-hour program was hosted by long-time announcer and music lover, Eric Friesen.
Studio Sparks presented music, both from discs and live material recorded across Canada and around the world, to music lovers across the country. The program drew on a wide range of classical music, jazz, and world beat, acoustic, and other styles. From time to time, Friesen welcomed a live audience into Ottawa’s new Studio 40, for chamber concerts or music interviews
