1974

On April 8, Walter Gagnon, on behalf of a company to be incorporated, was granted a licence for a new AM station at Bagotville.

CKPB signed on the air later in the year. It operated on a frequency of 1470 kHz with a full-time power of 1,000 watts (single directional pattern for day and night).

1979

On March 29, approval was given for the transfer of 91% of Radio CKPB Ltee from fifteen of the existing shareholders to Leon Coulombe Ltee. Coulombe already owned 9% of the common shares and 100% of the preferred shares of CKPB.

1980

Another share transfer approved.

1981

Due to financial troubles, CKPB left the air in January.

1982

CKPB returned to the air in September.

1983

CKPB had its licence renewed August 1. At the renewal hearing, CKPB Radio Ltd. confirmed that another company was running the station and that the licensee was no longer active and was in the process of dissolution.

CKPB left the air later in the year.
