1984

On March 1, Radio Basse-Ville was awarded a licence for a French-language FM community station at Quebec City on the frequency 96.1 MHz, with an effective radiated power of 6.8 watts. It would be a “neighbourhood” station, broadcasting thirty hours a week.

CKIA signed on the air on October 31.  

2001

CKIA was granted a change of frequency from 96.1 to 88.3 MHz and an increase in effective radiated power from 6.8 to 350 watts.

2007

On May 17 the CRTC renewed CKIA-FM’s licence until August 31, 2014.
