2011

On November 21, the CRTC approved an application by 7954689 Canada Inc. to operate a new French-language AM station on Class A 940 kHz with full-time power of 50,000 watts. It would target a 35+ audience with predominantly spoken word programming (News-Talk). The station would offer 126 hours of local programming each broadcast week. The licence would expire August 31, 2018. The existing transmitter site for 940 kHz (formerly used by CBM and then CINW) would be used by the new station. 7954689 Canada was equally controlled by 6556027 Canada Inc. (Rajiv Pancholy), 4158695 Canada Inc. (Paul Tietolman) and 9225-8318 Québec Inc. (Nicolas Tétrault). Paul was the son of Montreal broadcaster Jack Tietolman (founder of CKVL-AM and CKOI-FM).

2016

7954689 Canada (Tietolman Tetrault Media) was given extensions by the CRTC in 2014 and 2015 to get the new AM station on the air. CFNV 940 began airing test tones on October 26 and actual on-air testing started on November 16.

2018

In July, it was announced that CFNV would offer a Health & Wellness program format once the extended testing of the technical facilities was completed.

The CRTC gave CFNV a short-term licence renewal on August 21, to August 31, 2023. The station was licenced in 2011 and Commission records indicated that the station was not in operation for the majority of the licence term.
