1975
Radio Communautaire de l’Estrie was formed. It was a joint venture of two student groups at the University of Sherbrooke.

CFLX began broadcasting on local cable at 98.1 MHz.
1980
Radio Communautaire de l’Estrie Inc. received a licence June 17 to operate a French-language community FM station at Sherbrooke. It would operate on a frequency of 99.7 MHz with an effective radiated power of 2,600 watts. CHLM-FM-1 Lithium Mines was authorized to change frequency from 97.3 MHz to 103.5 MHz and to increase effective radiated power from 52,000 watts to 55,300 watts.
1983
On August 18, CFLX-FM had its licence renewed for three years even though it wasn’t on the air yet. At the renewal hearing, the licensee stated the anticipated financial grants had not yet been obtained. On the same date, CFLX was authorized to change frequency from 99.7 MHz to 95.5 MHz and to decrease effective radiated power from 2,600 watts to 1,600 watts, and received temporary authority to operate at 250 watts.
1984
CFLX-FM 95.5 signed on the air October 8 as a type B community station. Studios were in the old Magog Hotel on Dufferin Street.
1989
CFLX was given approval to decrease effective radiated power from 1,600 to 1,330 watts.
