2000
On May 11, the CRTC approved the application by Anthony Zwig for a new FM station in Belleville. The station would operate with a country format on 100.1 MHz with an effective radiated power of 40,000 watts. Zwig is the owner of CJOJ-FM in the city.
2001
The CRTC approved a decrease in effective radiated power for CHCQ from 40,000 to 21,000 watts, and the relocation of the transmitter site to the northwest of Belleville (Seaway) on September 12.
On October 1 at 10 a.m., CHCQ Q100 Quinte Country began on-air testing.
Q100 FM began official broadcasting on October 31.
A private launch party was held November 19 with Universal Recording Male Artist of the Year Jason McCoy at Matt & Joes.
CHCQ shared studio and office space with co-owned CJOJ at 354 Pinnacle St., Belleville.
2002
On July 26, the CRTC approved the application by John Sheratt to acquire CJOJ-FM from Belleville Radio Ltd. and CHCQ-FM from CHCQ Ltd. Anthony Zwigg, currently owns both Belleville Radio Limited and CHCQ Limited. Mr. Sherratt, had been assisting Mr. Zwigg in establishing CHCQ-FM and in the operation of CJOJ-FM. As he became more involved in these activities, Mr. Sherratt decided to make an offer to Mr. Zwigg for the purchase of the two stations.
2006
On May 24 the CRTC renewed CHCQ-FM’s licence to August 31, 2013.
2009
Former CJOJ co-host Kathleen Rankine joined COOL 100.
2010
Cool 100 and Classic Hits 95.5 moved in January. Their new home was 497 Dundas Street West.
2012
Josh Miller was now chief engineer/director of IT at Starboard Communications. He had been with the Evanov Broadcast Group in Toronto.
CHCQ program director Paul Ferguson took over as PD of sister station CJOJ.
