1981

CFXU started out as a closed circuit radio club and began broadcasting as 640 AM soon after.

The frequency changed from 640 to 690 kHz.

1983

On June 6, Radio CFXU Club was authorized to increase power for its carrier current station from 2 watts to 20 watts, and to add a frequency – 700 kHz – to improve service. The new frequency would service MacIssac, Bishops, Cameron, MacKinnon and Lane Halls. The existing 690 kHz would continue to be used to serve Mount St. Bernard.

2002

On August 30, Radio CFXU Club (formerly Saint Francis Xavier University Students’ Union) was awarded a licence to operate a new developmental campus FM station. The new CFXU-FM proposed to broadcast an average of 130 hours of programming each week, including 6 hours and 30 minutes of programming in languages other than English. The station would operate at 92.5 MHz with an effective radiated power of 5 watts.

2006 

On September 7, Radio CFXU Club received permission to operate as a low-power community-based campus FM radio programming undertaking, on 92.5 MHz with an effective radiated power of 50 watts. CFXU had been operating as a developmental campus radio station. The station would broadcast 108 hours of locally produced programming in each broadcast week, including six hours of programming in languages other than English.

2008

On August 12, the CRTC approved CFXU’s application to change frequency from 92.5 MHz to 93.3 MHz. Effective radiated power would remain 50 watts.
