2004
On November 26, Coopérative radiophonique – La Brise de la Baie ltée was given a licence for a French-language Type A community FM station at Saint John, operating on 105.7 MHz with an effective radiated power of 1,850 watts. Antenna height would be 37.1 metres. The new station would air 126 hours of programming in each broadcast week, with a minimum of 45 hours devoted to locally-produced programming. More than 74 of the 126 hours of programming would originate with the Réseau francophone d’Amérique (RFA). Music programming would feature Acadian, pop, jazz, disco, classical, world, country and western, oldies, rock, folk, Cajun, rap and hip-hop.
Studios and offices would be at 67, ch. Ragged Point, Midsummer’s Day (in the Community school Center Samuel-of-Champlain).
2006
CHQC-FM signed on the air on March 26.
2011
On August 31, the CRTC administratively renewed the licence for CHQC-FM to December 31, 2011.
2012
On August 28, the CRTC administratively renewed CHQC-FM’s licence to December 31, 2012. On December 21, the licence was renewed to August 31, 2016.
