Monsieur Tranquille, played by Roger Giguère, was a giant marionette with a huge moustache and hair made of grey wool, a very big nose and small round eyeglasses. Monsieur Tranquille sang songs that weren’t very politically correct and weren’t very educational either. The program’s creator, Jacques Desrosiers, played the character of Eugène.
Télé-Métropole broadcast 39 episodes of this program in 1977.
As of 1978, the program became Le monde de Monsieur Tranquille and Jacques Desrosiers was then replaced by Yvon Dufour. The program only lasted until the end of that season.
