Network: CBC Television Network
Broadcast Run: 1961
Broadcast Medium: Television
Aired Monday nights at 10 PM from June 26 to September 25, 1961.
With a generic title such as this, the CBC could air just about anything in the time slot, and it did. During the summer of 1961, the network broadcast a real mix of shows: variety, documentary, interviews, drama, and dance, some of which were co-produced with either the National Film Board of Canada or the BBC.
The series started with a documentary about Upper Canada Village, followed by a profile of the Banff School of Fine Arts and a history of Newfoundland. The rest of the series included two NFB films: Courtship and Marriage, and Of Sport and Men. The BBC productions included A Case for the Court, and After Supper, featuring Peter Ustinov in conversation. The series ended with performances by the Royal Winnipeg Ballet.
