Aired Thursday nights from September 30, 1971 to May 18, 1972.
Midweek was the companion to Weekend, the public affairs program that aired Saturday and Sunday nights. This show replaced the Saturday broadcast and now offered viewers two News shows a week.
The show was anchored by Peter Desbarats, Pierre Nadeau, Michael Callaghan, Kay Sigurjonsson and Clive Baxter, who shared the chair. Other contributors included Larry Zolf from Ottawa, Doug Collins from the West coast and Michael Maltby from Atlantic Canada. Special features were provided by Barry Callaghan, Pat Ferns, Andrew Simon, Ralph Thomas and Don Cumming.
Richard Nielsen was the executive producer.
