John Tyson, Michael G. Rinaldo and CUC Ltd. were awarded a licence by the CRTC on March 14, 1985, to operate The Life Channel. The channel began operating on October 18, 1985. Due to large financial losses, The Life Channel was shut down November 30, 1986.
