Written by Pierre Gauvreau, the TV soap opera Le temps d’un paix took place in the interlude between the two Great Wars in the picturesque Charlevoix region. This period, between 1919 and 1939, witnessed the evolution of the trade union movement and the entry of women into the job market.
The program, broadcast until 1986, attracted up to three million TV viewers every week. It starred actors who left an indelible mark in the TV history books, including Nicole Leblanc (Rose-Anna), Jean Besré (Joseph-Arthur) – who replaced Pierre Dufresne, who had died suddenly -, Daniel Gadouas (Lionel), Monique Aubry (Mémère Bouchard) and Denys Paris (Ticoune).
