This summer series was sponsored by Pepsi Canada and Kraft Foods. It was a musical variety show inspired by the Ed Sullivan show on American television, with a studio audience and elaborate staging. The program did not necessarily attract as big an audience as Sullivan, but it did help launch the careers of some familiar Canadian artists including Tommy Common, Wally Koster, Larry Mann, Ian & Sylvia, Patti Lewis and Tommy Hunter.
