Shortly after the Apollo 11 landing on the moon, [July 20, 1969], this five part series made its debut. It took a look at space travel beginning with the launch of Sputnik in 1957 and it featured interviews with aerospace engineers and scientists. Most of the footage was collected from NASA, the Soviet Union, Great Britain and France. Segments were titled Sounds of Silence, The Other Side of the Sky, The High Frontier, A Star to Steer Her By and Childhood’s End. Conquest of Space was produced in Ottawa.
