The Chrysler Festival was a big budget variety show produced in front of a live audience. The venue was Loew’s Uptown Theatre in Toronto, which had a seating capacity of 2,000. Only six shows were produced but they featured a number of artists who were very popular in their day, including Eartha Kitt, the Dave Brubeck Quartet, Tito Gobbi, Larry Adler, tenor Richard Tucker, Peter Sellers, Dorothy Dandridge, the Oscar Peterson Trio, Marian Anderson, Edith Piaf and Glenn Gould.
