Aired Sunday evenings during the autumn of 1958

CBC television often ran new documentaries produced by the National Film Board of Canada. Candid Eye was no exception. It’ films made use of the latest portable equipment in film-making and offered viewers the chance to see events unfold without narration. Most of the films were shot by Terence Macartney-Filgate including Blood and Fire about the work of the Salvation Army, The Back-Breaking Leaf about working the tobacco fields of southern Ontario and The Days Before Christmas.
