Beetlejuice II

Network: Global Television Network

Broadcast Run: 1989 to 1998

Based on the hit movie of the same name, this combination animated/ non-animated half-hour series was about an outrageous ghost named Beetlejuice and his pre-teen real-life friend Lydia Deetz. Lydia joined Beetlejuice in his crazy world called the Neitherworld. Every time Beetlejuice uttered a double-entendre, the play-on- words happened to him literally. So when he “lost his head”, his head actually fell off and got lost. When he demanded a “pat on the back”, he ended up with an obnoxious little gnome named “Pat” on his back. Other uttered phrases that put Beetlejuice into some weird situations included “in a pickle”, “over a barrel”, “up a creek” and “in a stew”.
