One of the most popular CBC dramas, with comic overtones, featured the small town exploits of a group of competitive seafarers who try to salvage logs that drift on to the beaches of British Columbia. Filmed on location in Gibson, B.C., the program starred Bruno Gerussi as Nick Adonidas, Rae Brown as Molly and veteran Canadian actor, Robert Clothier as Relic. Created by Marc and Susan Strange.
On November 25, 2002, The New Beachcombers TV movie debuted on CBC, with a return to Molly’s Reach. This updated story, featuring Dave Thomas and Graham Greene was produced by Jackson Davies, directed by Brad Turner and written by Marc Strange.
