When originally proposed, this channel was to be known as LCN Affaires. The original ownership consisted of Groupe TVA, Publications Transcontinental and BCE Media. Before launching, Groupe TVA bought out its partners and acquired 100% interest in the channel which launched as Argent on February 21, 2005. Argent was shut down by Quebecor (TVA) on April 30, 2016.
