On June 29th 2012, CTV announced a pilot order for a new ensemble comedy, titled Satisfaction, from Halifax’s DHX Media, written by Tim McAuliffe and produced by Michael Donovan. The cast would include Luke MacFarlane Stephanie Lemelin , Ryan Belleville, Vic Sahay and Leah Renee. No start date was projected.
Satisfaction would take a humorous look at a group of friends who were completely uninhibited as they shared their relationship woes and romantic wins, life crises, and personal ambitions. Dedicated single man Mark (Belleville) hustled the dating scene while his best friends and long-term couple Jason (MacFarlane) and Maggie (Lemelin) worked at keeping the sparks flying as they faced the day-to-day challenges of being in a committed relationship. Neighbours Nancy (Renee) and Dan (Sahay) had a marriage that proved that, while opposites could definitely attract, it could also deliver some seriously epic volatility.
Satisfaction would be produced by DHX Media in association with CTV. Executive producer was Michael Donovan and Tim McAuliffe was executive producer/writer.
On January 10th 2013, CTV announced that the network had ordered twelve episodes in addition to the pilot, and series production began on April 29th 2013. Keith Samples, Shawn Alex Thompson, Jason Priestley, Mike Clattenburg, James Dunnison and Steve Wright were named as directors.
Satisfaction premiered on June 24, 2013, and ran through to the beginning of September. However, on October 29th it was reported that CTV would not be renewing the series for a second season.
