This half hour cooking show featured James Barber, the British-born engineer and physicist turned chef. Barber worked his magic every week offering viewers simple yet tasty recipes from around the world. Barber was a successful writer as well, translating his television show recipes to print with ease. The Urban Peasant series was syndicated to the Food Network in Canada and the Discovery Channel in the United States. It was produced in Vancouver.
