This half hour program took full advantage of the televised proceedings in Canada’s House of Commons. Question period footage was often used to supplement reports on the proceedings of Canada’s elected officials.
This program was first hosted by John Drewery in 1977, and then by Bill Casey until 1982. When Parliament was in recess, Don Newman stepped in to host a program called This Week, which was a weekly discussion of public affairs, usually with MPs. Newman later hosted a similar show called Politics on Newsworld.
Produced in Ottawa by Don Hearn, This Week in Parliament was directed by Ray Lachance or Joan Woodward.
