This half hour program was hosted by Joe MacInnis, medical doctor, diver and broadcaster. MacInnis had gained fame for his diving expeditions in the Arctic; consequently, this series was very much about oceans, sea life and Nature.

The first season featured episodes about sustaining the oceans and aquatic life, and were titled appropriately: Sunken Treasure, Wind and Tide, Submersibles, Fish for the Future and Man in Sea.

The second season’s episodes included Dive, Dive, Dive, which was about scuba diving in Atlantic Canada. War on Ice looked at the effects of climate change. The Great Inland Seas examined industrial pollution. The Last Resource examined the need to care for our oceans as a finite resource.

Dr. MacInnis later produced documentaries for National Geographic and was one of the first five divers to locate the Titanic in 1985.
