On June 1st 2016, CTV announced that it had committed to a new six-part series, The Disappearance, from Montreal-based Productions Casablanca. The series would follow the mysterious disappearance of 10-year-old Anthony Wilson, who vanished on his birthday during a treasure hunt.
The Disappearance would be produced by Productions Casablanca in association with Bell Media, with the financial participation of the Canada Media Fund and the assistance of the Québec Film and Television Tax Credit and the Canadian Film or Video Production Tax Credit. The series would also be carried in French by the Super Écran network.
The series ran for six weeks from October 1st 2017, starring Peter Coyote, Joanne Kelley and Micheline Lanctôt.
