1988

On June 28, Société de Télévision MBS was given approval to operate at TV station at  Rivière-du-Loup, on channel 29B, with an effective radiated power of 18,100 watts, to rebroadcast the programs of CFJP-TV Montreal. Télévision MBS was owned by CKRT-TV Ltée., which also owned CKRT-TV and CIMT-TV in the city.

CFTF-TV channel 29 signed on the air in September. It was a TQS affiliate.

1990

Approval was given for CFTF to operate rebroadcasters at Trois-Pistoles (channel 17, 70 watts) and at Edmundston, in New Brunswick (channel 42, 70 watts).

The corporate name changed from Société de Télévision MBS to Télévision MBS Inc. The company remained a wholly owned subsidiary of CKRT-TV Ltée.

Television MBS was given approval to operate a rebroadcast transmitter at Baie-Saint-Paul, using channel 24 with a power of 100 watts. 

1993

CFTF-TV turned in its licence for Baie St-Paul and was looking for better ways of extending its service area. The station would continue to operate rebroadcasters at Trois-Pistoles and Edmundston. 

1995

On February 15, the CRTC approved the application to amend the licence for CFTF-TV by adding the following condition of licence: In addition to the 12 minutes of advertising material permitted by subsection 11(1) of the Television Broadcasting Regulations, 1987, the licensee may broadcast more than 12 minutes of advertising material in any clock hour in a broadcast day, in order to broadcast infomercials as defined in Public Notice CRTC 1994-139 and in accordance with the criteria contained in that public notice, as amended.  

1998

On July 8, Télévision MBS inc. was granted a television programming undertaking licence by the CRTC as it intended to broadcast two hours and 57 minutes of local programming per week. To this point, CFTF-TV was licenced as a radio communication distribution undertaking to rebroadcasts the programming of CFJP-TV, received via satellite. CFTF would also operate re-broadcast transmitters at the following locations: Trois-Pistoles, Sept-Iles, Baie-Comeau, Forestville, and Edmundston (NB). 

1999

CFTF-TV was authorized to add a low-power transmitter at Rivière-du-Loup, to compensate for the weak signal of the main station at several locations in the lower part of town. 

2001

The addition of a transmitter at Les Escoumins was approved. 

2002

Télévision MBS inc. was given approval to add transmitters for CFTF-TV at Carleton, Baie-Saint-Paul, and Gaspé. 

2004

By this time, CFTF-TV operated the following transmitters: CFTF-TV-1 Edmundston, New Brunswick, CFTF-TV-2 Trois-Pistoles, CFTF-TV-3 Cabano, CFTF-TV-4 Forestville, CFTF-TV-5 Baie-Comeau, CFTF-TV-6 Rivière-du-Loup, CFTF-TV-7 Sept-Îles, CFTF-TV-8 Les Escoumins, CFTF-TV-9 Gaspé, CFTF-TV-10 Baie-Saint-Paul and CFTF-TV-11 Carleton, Quebec. 

2009

On August 27 the CRTC renewed until August 31, 2016, the licence of CFTF-TV and its transmitters (Quebec: CFTF-TV-2 Trois-Pistoles, CFTF-TV-3 Cabano, CFTF-TV-4 Forestville, CFTF-TV-5 Baie-Comeau, CFTF-TV-6 Rivière-du-Loup, CFTF-TV -7 Sept-Îles, CFTF-TV-8 Les Escoumins, CFTF-TV-9 Gaspé, CFTF-TV-10 Baie-Saint-Paul, CFTF-TV-11 Carleton-sur-Mer and CJPC-TV Rimouski; New Brunswick: CFTF-TV-1 Edmundston, New Brunswick). Conditions of licence include: The licensee shall broadcast not less than three hours and 10 minutes of local programming in each broadcast week, to be allocated as follows: one hour and 35 minutes of local programming directed to the Rimouski region and surrounding area and one hour and 35 minutes of local programming directed to Rivière-du-Loup and the surrounding area, the Gaspé Peninsula and New Brunswick.  

2010

The CRTC approved the change to the ownership of Quebecor Media Inc. through the transfer of the shares held by Capital d’Amérique CDPQ inc. in QMI to CDP Capital d’Amérique Investissement inc., another CDPQ subsidiary. This transaction does not affect the effective control of QMI and of its licensee subsidiaries. QMI owns, through TVA Group Inc. and Videotron Ltd., broadcasting distribution undertakings, television programming undertakings, a pay-per-view undertaking, specialty services and a video-on-demand undertaking. 

2011

On January 7, the CRTC approved the application by Télévision MBS inc. to amend the licence for CFTF-TV in order to add a post-transition digital transmitter in order to serve the population of Rivière-du-Loup. The new digital would operate on channel 29 with an average effective radiated power of 26,200 watts (maximum ERP of 44,000 watts with an effective height of antenna above average terrain of 341.1 metres).

On April 8, the CRTC approved the application by Télévision MBS inc. to amend the licence for CFTF-TV Rivière-du-Loup in order to add a post-transition digital transmitter to serve the population of Rimouski. The new transmitter (CJPC-DT) would operate on channel 18 with an average effective radiated power of 127 watts (maximum ERP of 360 watts with an effective height of antenna above average terrain of 118.2 metres).

The CRTC approved amendments to the licence for conventional television station CFTF-TV Rivière-du-Loup, in order to add post-transition digital transmitters in Cabano, Forestville, Les Escoumins, Gaspé, Baie-Saint-Paul, Carleton-sur-Mer, Edmunston (New Brunswick), Trois-Pistoles, Baie-Comeau, Rivière-du-Loup, and Sept-Îles, Quebec.

The deadline for the conversion of analog television to digital in mandatory markets was August 31. In the case of CFTF-TV, only its Riviere-du-Loup transmitters were required to make the switch to digital but the station decided to convert all of its transmitters on September 1. Most of the stations retained their analog channels for digital use (the analog transmitter was shut down and immediately replaced by the digital): CFTF-TV Riviere-du-Loup – channel 29, CFTF-TV-1 Edmundston (NB) – channel 42, CFTF-TV-2 Trois-Pistoles – channel 17, CFTF-TV-3 Cabano – channel 12, CFTF-TV-4 Forestville – channel 4, CFTF-TV-5 Baie-Comeau – channel 9, CFTF-TV-6 Rivière-du-Loup – channel 11, CFTF-TV-7 Sept-Îles – channel 7, CFTF-TV-8 Les Escoumins – channel 33, CFTF-TV-10 Baie-Saint-Paul – channel 26, CFTF-TV-11 Carleton-sur-Mer – channel 44, and CJPC-TV Rimouski – channel 18. CFTF-TV-9 Gaspé switched from analog channel 58 to digital channel 30.
