The Canadian networks, first CBC, and then CTV and Global, have over the years produced thousands of hours of Canadian programming in all categories, and much of it has gained audiences comparable with those achieved by the best that U.S. budgets and talent have been able to offer. But it is important also to recognize the significant contribution to the totality of Canadian programming made by some enterprising independent stations, notably by CHCH-DT Hamilton, CITY-DT Toronto, and on occasion, TV Ontario. Much of their output has been successfully syndicated across Canada, and some of it has even found its way into overseas markets, either in its original form or through the sale of the formats to be used as the basis for local productions.
Our Foundation does not hold copies of any programs, and it is our experience that very few program series that involved viewer participation were ever made available to the public. Anyone hoping to find a copy of an old show should go to the website of the station/network on which the program appeared, and ask if they can help.
